ION Radio Program Highlights

As more material is developed, we've begun to vary our programming and present what is broadcast in a more structured fashion.  Here are some of the features and special programs now on the air.  See a program schedule for our special programs.  Can't wait, make a request online.

Each Hour in Regular Programming

What's Going I'On is our basic community events announcement segment and runs three times her hour at approximately 2, 22 and 42 minutes after the hour.  This segment presents a short summary of major community events coming up in I'On for the next 4 to 5 days.  It is updated at least twice per week, on Sunday and Thursday evenings.  To see that your community event is listed, I'On Residents should use the Advertise Your Event form on the www.ioncommunity.com website.

Fred's Thoughts- Fred Defilippo has a pocket recorder and he is not afraid to use it.  Hear what's on his mind about 30 minutes after the hour in regular programming.

Interviews of people from I'On and the surrounding community as well as people involved with the community run several times an hour.  If you know of someone who you would like to hear on the air email radio@wjhamilton.com.

Featured Music We run music selected to highlight upcoming community events in the last ten minutes of each hour.  This is generally proceeded by interviews, announcements of other material on the upcoming event.

Moultrie News The staff of the Moultrie News gives us a headline treatment of the news that has made the paper 10 minutes after the hour on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Special Weekend Content

Birdwatch with Craig Richard  I'On's Bird Expert presents this short feature on some of the birds you can find in I'On early in each hour on the weekends.  Most segments include a recording of the bird being described.

Sacred Sounds- Hear the spiritual side of the New Village is speech and song on Sunday Mornings.
